Victoria Jaschob

Job title:
Center Manager
Department:
Center for Interdisciplinary Critical Inquiry
Bio/CV:

Victoria is the Manager of the newly re-named Center for Interdisciplinary Critical Inquiry (formerly CIR) in the Division of Arts & Humanities, working with recently appointed Director Debarati Sanyal. As MSO of CICI, Victoria oversees budget and financial planning for the Center, as well as staffing, communications, events, and other programmatic activities. Victoria comes to A&H from the College of Environmental Design, where she worked as Dean’s Office MSO and Prizes & Awards Manager under Dean Renee Chow. Prior to that position, Victoria worked as Associate Director of Alumni Relations for CED, and as Development Associate in the College of Chemistry.

In her 9+ years working on campus, Victoria has had ample opportunity to interface with many campus partners and collaborators, and is an active member of the Berkeley Events Network, the Stewardship Roundtable, and the Berkeley Advancement Community. She has received three SPOT awards, and is a certified Berkeley Meeting and Event Planner. Victoria sees her new role as a homecoming of sorts, as she received her B.A. from Berkeley’s FiIm and Media Department in 2009.

Prior to her career at UC Berkeley, Victoria spent nearly 20 years as a project manager in the computer animation industry at studios such as Pixar, LucasFilm, and ImageMovers Digital. She was the Events Coordinator for the San Francisco Silent Film Festival for many years, and still volunteers at their Opening Night Party. She is passionate about writing for film, and regularly contributes program notes to Frameline and the Mill Valley Film Festivals. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her bike, watching movies, sewing vintage fashions, and playing with her rescue mutts Clancy and Betty White.
